Before the Visit
The visit actually starts the day before. Once booked, a coordinator or the assigned companion calls the family to confirm: hospital and department, appointment or token plan, the patient's condition and mobility needs, where the companion will meet the patient (home pickup, hospital entrance, or metro exit), and what documents to carry.
The family receives the companion's name, photo, and verification confirmation before the visit — the patient knows exactly who is coming.
The Morning: Arrival, Registration, Token
- 6:30-7:30 AM (government hospitals) — the companion arrives before counters open and takes queue position. At private hospitals, arrival tracks the appointment slot.
- 8:00 AM — registration counters open; the companion completes registration, pays the nominal fee, and collects the consultation token.
- 8:15 AM — the family gets a WhatsApp update: token number, department, estimated wait.
- 9:00-9:30 AM — the patient arrives — dropped at the entrance, met at the metro, or picked up from home — and is escorted to the department waiting area. No standing in the registration queue.
The Consultation
When the token number is called, the companion escorts the patient into the doctor's room. Inside, the companion takes notes on the diagnosis, prescribed medicines, and follow-up instructions — and, if the doctor permits, connects the family on a WhatsApp call so they can ask questions directly. For language support, the companion can translate instructions into the patient's language or English for the family.
Tests, Pharmacy & Wrap-Up
After the consultation the companion runs the remaining errands in the right order: any ordered diagnostics (blood draw, X-ray, ultrasound — see our multi-test morning guide), the pharmacy queue for prescribed medicines, and any billing. Then the patient is settled into their cab or metro for home.
